The headscan is beautifully done. Really everything is perfect except people are not happy that Mattel made these the lilac purple trunks instead of the true color pink that Macho Man wore in the greatest match of all time.

Macho Man Randy Savage - Wrestlemania 3 Mattel Defining Moments Preorder
I owed myself this one, and preordered it last night from Mattel. It's Randy Savage from his greatest match of all-time, Wrestlemania 3 against Ricky the Dragon Steamboat.
That match is largely considered by many to be the greatest match ever in the Wrestling Bible. His figure is based on his beautiful attire from that night. You'll remember the pink trunks, yellow boots and robe. He didn't come with his Intercontinental Title strap that he dropped that night; but he is supposedly a new head scan.
I just had to have this one. This was my biggest want of all-time, for many years. Macho Man was my favorite other than Bret Hart; so I am happy to have ordered this one and ordered a protector case for the figure.

WWE Network Watch Log
Last night, the feature was Macho Man Randy Savage. This has become my new project.
1. Tuesday Night Titans Episode 42: July 19th, 1985.
2. Wrestlemania XII: Macho Man vs. Ultimate Warrior (Retirement Match)
The Tuesday Night Titans was purely awesome. It was Randy Savage fresh out of the territory he was working in, coming into the WWF for the first time. Billed as "the biggest free agent" out there, having managers like Fuji, Freddie Blassie, Bobby Heenan, Jimmy Hart all clamoring for his services.
He cut a promo of foreshadowing - almost amazing to hear the words he said. He said he was going to be the greatest; even 1000 years into the future. He said he was going to take the World Heavyweight Title belt from Hulk Hogan and gave his first mention of 'Macho Madness'.
Then he beat some poor jobber named Aldo Marino....

Saturday Night's Main Event Tradition
I continued one of my most favorite traditions in owning the WWE Network - quietly watching whatever Saturday Night's Main Event that the WWE chooses to air on a Saturday evening.
Tonight's iteration was October 3rd, 1987. Everyone will famously remember it as the time the heel Hart Foundation held the Macho Man at each arm while the Honky Tonk Man slugged Savage over the head with his guitar.
This would lead to a Hulk Hogan save (with Elizabeth watching nearby) and the formation of the Mega Powers. This episode took place from Hershey Park, Pennsylvania.
Also featured on this episode was good old King Kong Bundy.
If I have time tonight, I'll probably watch some WCW to complete my Saturday Night Slam Masters evening.

Andre the Giant didn't like Macho Man?
I never realized this, but after reading this old piece from CBS Sports on Andre the Giant, he reportedly didn't like the late Macho Man Randy Savage:
Robin did not attend either of her father's two memorial services, though she was invited to the one held in France by Andre's family. Years later, as a young adult, Robin made attempts to try and learn more about her father from people that knew him professionally. When wrestlers came to town, she'd hang out near the hotel bar in the places they liked to stay, looking for people who may have known her father. Some encounters were successful, others were disappointing.
"I met Randy Savage once, probably about 15 years ago or so," Robin said. "I talked to him for a little bit because I was asking him some questions. At one point, he just looked at me and he was like, 'I wish I could tell you more, but your dad didn't like me.' He was like, 'I had nothing but the utmost respect for him, but your dad did not like me.'"It's always kind of stuff to piece anecdotes like this together years later with them departed, but I would love to ask some of the guys who shared the road and locker room with these two at the time why there was reported bad blood between the two.

WWF Fallen Superstars Art
I absolutely love these. I had to put a few of my favorites on the blog. My favorite ones after Bad News Brown and the jump.

Worst ending to a Royal Rumble? Yokozuna and Macho Man
And to think I was actually excited about this match coming down to Yokozuna and Macho Man Randy Savage! Look at the way this damn thing ends! Who the Hell booked this shit back then? AWFUL. Just AWFUL! Then again, it's what makes wrestling great, shit like this!
SummerSlam Memories
I remember SummerSlam '91 like it was yesterday. I'm fairly certain that it was the day before school began, and I remember as my dad tucked me in that night (I was nine years old) wondering whether the wedding between Miss Elizabeth and Macho Man went off with a bang. I was hoping they would talk about it on 700 WLW radio sports talk with Steve 'Boom Boom' Cannon. I think they touched on it but memory runs short.
I remember my old WWF Magazine billing the card as 'A Match Made in Heaven' and 'A Match Made in Hell'.
The match of the night was Mr. Perfect vs. Bret Hart for the Intercontinental Title.
